My TramShed Family

When we began planning our TramShed ‘15 Years Together’ blog, it was important to us (in true TramShed style) that all voices were heard and everyone who had experienced 15 years with our organisation, had the opportunity to share their thoughts and memories. Today’s blog comes from Tina Heaney. Tina has been a member of our Adult Company since our doors first opened and has made a huge impact on our organisation. She also joined TramShed Voice many years ago and enjoys taking part in all the extra social events and fundraising activities. She has given us her full approval to write this piece on her behalf and has been taking part in recent workshops with our artistic team, to have her say.

Tina Heaney - Fix You (July 2017)

Anyone who has ever been to a TramShed performance will know Tina. Her presence on stage, connection with the audience and clear passion of the arts is what many go away talking about at the end of the evening. She loves being in the spotlight and gets so much enjoyment from the inclusive performances at TramShed. Tina is the heart of TramShed and has taught the arts team so much over the years, including how to party!

We talked through many TramShed moments with Tina and once her hysterical laughter had subsided, she answered the following questions:

Do you prefer workshops or performances?

Tina - Performances.

Where is your favourite place to perform?

Tina - Blackpool Sixth Form.

Do you prefer being on stage or backstage?

Tina - On stage.

Do you prefer summer performances or Christmas performances?

Tina - Summer, because of the costumes.

What is your favourite part of a performance?

Tina - The finale.

What was your favourite TramShed Performance?

Tina - Heads or Tails in 2014.

One of the most iconic TramShed performances was ‘Fix You’ which stars Tina and has been performed twice to showcase inclusive theatre at its best. We asked Tina which performance was her favourite?

Tina - Change Makers in 2017.

Tina shared with the team that she loves her TramShed T-Shirts (especially the green one) and has her ‘15 Years of TramShed’ award, which was presented to her during the Jubilee, in her bedroom at home…pride of place for all to see. Like many of us here at TramShed, Tina considers the organisation a family and has made so many wonderful friends along the way. One thing is certain, TramShed would not be the organisation it is without Tina. She says she is looking forward to the next 15 years and we are looking forward to the mischief and laughs we know she will create along the way.
