“TramShed is so inclusive, I have never been anywhere in my life where everyone is always so welcomed”. TramShed Member
Performances
Our members and staff work together to create unique performances.
We write original performances that showcase our company, devised and inspired by their ideas and experiences.
Nurturing the creativity of our members, ensures each project is innovative and challenges bias.
We stage two large scale performances each year at Blackpool Sixth Form Theatre. In addition to this, members often have the opportunity to perform at community events, both locally and nationally, which showcases our talents.
“Every show is fantastic and everyone is so talented”. - Audience Member.
Inclusive Training
We provide inclusive training to our volunteers age 15+, giving practical experiences in a variety of settings.
Training includes modules on safeguarding, unconscious bias, resilience, British Sign Language and more.
Our volunteers attend mandatory workshops once a month during term time, to equip them with the skills and confidence to support members.
“I feel extremely valued as part of the TramShed Team, and have been given some amazing opportunities”. - Adult Volunteer Member
Education
Our experienced and talented Artistic team deliver a variety of inclusive performance and workshops across the North West, through our theatre in education programme ‘Shed Stories’.
We bring children and young people together to work creatively alongside one another. Specialising in a ‘School-Link’ system, to realise community cohesion.
Our workshops and performances enhance the National Curriculum. Working from EYFS to KS5.
“We recently had a very special visit from TramShed Theatre Company, and the EYFS children were treated to an interactive performance of “The Gingerbread Man” with a strong focus on numeracy. Children and staff thoroughly enjoyed the acting, music and puppets and as always, everyone joined in with lots enthusiasm. Overall an amazing interactive experience”. - Kirkland & Catterall Primary School.
