All planning is included and performances will also include a digital resource pack for further classroom follow up activities.

  • 45 minutes prior to the performance commencing to set up the show.

  • 30 minutes after the performance has finished to remove our set and scenery.

  • A completed booking form, for confirmation of which package you are interested in and if you would like to include an Inclusive theatre workshop after the performance, to explore the subject matter a little deeper.

Sensory Stories & Makaton to Nursery Rhymes

A sensory stories workshop

Reading in the early years plays a vital role in developing communication, imagination, and emotional connection. Through fun and interactive experiences, children build confidence, strengthen language skills, and develop a lifelong love of stories. TramShed’s engaging workshop supports this by combining sensory storytelling with learning Makaton signs through popular nursery rhymes.

These sessions create an inclusive, playful environment where little ones can explore stories through sound, movement, and touch, making learning both meaningful and memorable. Using Makaton alongside familiar nursery rhymes supports early communication by pairing actions with words, rhythm, and repetition. This helps children understand and express themselves, even before spoken language fully develops.

Designed for a much younger age group, these workshops nurture early development while making reading and communication a joyful, shared experience.
